- Install and configure UserPoints plugin in Joomla to integrate with Membership Pro, automatically detect new rules, award referral points based on unique function names matching Membership Pro Plan IDs. Ensure correct settings for Payment Plugin to accept points as Membership Plan payments.
Install this plugin using the usual Joomla install facility . It will integrate UserPoints and Membership Pro. After you have installed it, go to the UserPoints admin control panel and run "Auto detect new rules". You should then find two new rules in UserPoints. The plugin also provides the referral function where points will be awarded to the user who referred the person buying a Membership Pro Plan.
One of the new rules relates to these referral points. You must check the "Unique function name" carefully - it ends with a number. Make sure the number corresponds to the ID number of the Membership Pro Plan for which you want to award referral points. If you want to award points to more than one plan, make copies of this rule, changing the "Unique function name" so that the number at the end matches the ID in Membership Pro. Set the number of points to be awarded. Normally, you would leave "Allow referral points" as "no" - so that the referral points do not trigger further awards. Carefully check all the other parameters for the rule.
The other rule relates to accepting points as payment for a Membership Plan. Check all the fields, but you should not need to make any changes. What you must do for payment by points to work is to install the "Payment Plugin to pay for Membership Pro subscriptions with points" into Membership Pro. NOTE: It is not a Joomla plugin, but must be installed using the Membership Pro facility for adding payment methods.
